The unending Court actions by the opposition in Rivers State have been condemned and described as unhealthy, as well as capable of causing distraction and unnecessary rancour and acrimony in the state.
This condemnation was made by Barr. Emeh Glory Emeh, an accomplished politician in the state. He however commended Governor Nyesom Wike for accelerated infrastructural development and urban renewal in the past four years of his administration.
Chief Glory Emeh, who specifically condemned the attitude of the opposition APC in permanently engaging on frivolous and unwarranted court actions against the government of Rivers State, described the development as needless distraction to the Governor, who is focused on changing the narrative of development in the state.
He said: “Rivers State has witnessed vital urban renewal and development in the first term of Governor Nyesom Wike, featuring guided infrastructural developments and rehabilitations, and in some cases comprehensive reconstructions of buildings and other assets of the state that had been neglected and allowed to decay by the immediate past administration.
” It is uncalled for and certainly constitutes lack of patriotism for APC to indulge in the habit of pull down syndrome as such attitude will continuously constitute a distraction to the government of the day.
“On the question of the effect of litigation against Governor Wike, I am proud and bold to say that the Governor has developed tick skin, and has consolation in the overwhelming acceptance of his pattern of politics, commitment and patriotism, and therefore does not really bother about the antics of the so-called opposition.
“You reside in Rivers State, you can see for yourself the reception and ovation extended to the Governor each time he is out on inspection of projects or in attendance at occasions.
“This is the way to measure the popularity or otherwise of a leader, the reason why our people continue to say that there is no alternative to Governor Wike in Rivers State at this point in time”.
Chief Emeh, who is also a political strategist further stated that the laudable achievements of Governor Wike in the area of urban renewal and development have been acknowledged locally and globally, with awards to show for it, hence according to him, all those who mean well for the state are expected to join forces with the Governor to advance the frontiers of development.
He called on those who consider themselves as being on the opposition in the state to avoid actions and utterances that could distract the process of development but rather subordinate their personal interests to that of the state, if only, according him, as a mark of respect for the decision of the vast majority of Rivers people to renew the mandate of the Peoples Democratic Party for another term of four years.
Barr.Emeh called on all those who live and do business in Rivers state to continue to support the administration of Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike as it restrategises to take development in the state to a higher level.
