The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Coordinator for Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. John Ndubueze Nwachukwu, has stated that the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi does not have any moral justification to ask Rivers South-South people for their votes in the forthcoming general election having deceived them in 2014.
Speaking with newsmen during the Oyigbo stakeholders consultation meeting over the weekend, the coordinator recalled that Amaechi deceived the people that he was going over to the All Progressives Congress (APC) because of three points agenda which includes the implementation of Ogoni UNEP clean-up, the returning of Rivers State oil well, allegedly ceded to Bayelsa State by former President Goodluck Jonathan as well as the completion of the East/West road construction.
Hon. Nwachukwu said Amaechi used these points as a propaganda to deceive some persons into the failed party and has not been able to keep any of these promises in spite of the major portfolio allotted to him.
According to him, “based on these facts and the Minister’s highhandedness as well as his impunity, the APC is in a mess and cannot find its feet, adding that one can cheat all the people some of the time and not all the people all the time”.
He made it clear that the APC candidates remain out of the 2019 race as a result, warning that any attempt to return them through whatever means will be fiercely resisted, adding that what the party is suffering is self-inflicted injury and that no point blaming themselves or looking for scape goat.
Hon. Nwachukwu equally made it clear that the persecution of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onoghen’ is a misplaced priority, as it is a ploy to ensure that all the sensitive positions are in the hands of Hausa/Fulani Oligarchy for their selfish interest.
The astute politician however assured that despite the development, all the PDP candidates will win their election convincingly and with increased margin as a result of their vigorous campaign and sensitization of the people with visible evidence of performance by Goverrnor Nyesom Wike.
