ASUP Chairman Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Congratulates Rector On Award
More congratulations have come for rector of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor, for winning National Network Newspaper’s Outstanding Educational Administrator Award.
The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) in Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port-Harcourt, in Rivers State, Dr. Moses T. Bakpo, while congratulating the rector for winning the award said he was not surprised Dr. Kalagbor won the award.
He said in an interview on Friday that the rector of the polytechnic works committedly to bring positive results to the polytechnic.
He said: “He deserves it. Dr. (Samuel) Kalagbor is always showing leadership by example. He’s a man that works round the clock. He has put this polytechnic in a clear standing within the last few months. I think as he came to office, he has presented fifteen courses for accreditation to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) which has scaled through. We see him as a team player. He’s a man who has the administrative prowess. He’s a man who can deliver at any time”.
The ASUP Chairman commended the rector for the proper coordination of academic activities in the institution saying that programmes of study in the polytechnic are “well-organized”.
Dr. Bakpo said there’s cordial relationship between the ASUP and the school authority.
He said: “There is…synergy between the Union and Management because… the Union and Management are working towards same goal and that is talking about the achievement(s) of this great institution. Gone are those days when Management and Union were at loggerheads. This time around there’s serious synergy,” saying the narrative has changed from period of war to period of closeness.
He said if there were issues to be presented to the school authority, the ASUP would use “wits” and have them addressed.
Dr. Kalagbor received his award at Hotel Presidential in Port-Harcourt on 18 October among an array of other award recipients.
