Go Round FC Grab Slim Win Over Dynamite In Nigeria National League
Onyedikachi Ugwu came off the bench for Ogbonaya Anoyor and scrambled home a goal a few minutes later to fetch his side a 1-0 win over Dynamites FC.
The game played at the Krisdera Hotel Stadium was as direct as it gets with both sides pushing forward from the get go, trying to get the early goal but most of the activity was in midfield as chances were few and far between.
The game recorded its first clear chance in the 23rd minute when Maduka Junior received a low pass from the Uduak Daniel on the right. He controlled well at the edge of the box but shot wide.
Four minutes later, Dynamite FC had an attempt at goal but Edikam Johnson shot straight into the hands of Go Round FC goalkeeper, Eze Chidiere’s hands.
Just before half time, in the 39th minute, Go Round FC had another chance to score and this time it was Chiegbonam Nwogbaga who failed to beat the goalkeeper of Dynamite FC.
A sublime pass had come in from the right, off the foot of Uduak Daniel and Nwogbaga controlled well, but his volley went wide.
In the second half, Go Round FC coach, Abiye Tamunoiyalla made key changes, bringing on Uchenna Ezeala for Chinonye Chinda in the 50th minute and then Osem Joshua for Nwogbaba in the 56th minute.
But the difference came in the 70th minute when Onyedikachi Ugwu replaced Anayor and scored within five minutes as he scrambled home a loose ball after Udo Treasure dropped a ball he should have held on to.
Dynamite coach, Samson Unuanel was not bothered with the result saying he is in the team to build players and not to fight for three points.
“I do not want to pick blames. We lost and we will go back home,” Unuanel said.
“I do not pick targets for myself. I only work to develop. I am here to develop these boys. If I can develop them for the national teams or Europe then I know I have achieved something.”
Go Round FC, Abiye Tamunoiyalla simply thanked God for the win.
“First of all, I will say I give thanks to God for today’s win. We couldn’t have done it without him,” Tamunoiyalla said.
“We promised the management that we will give them three points and we did that today. I said before that it is a work in progress and by the time, I play three or four games, we will get it right.
