Gracious David West: Another Witness Testifies About Alleged Killer’s Victim In Wardrobe
Another witness who testified in court against alleged serial killer, Gracious David West, has said he found victim of the alleged serial killer in a wardrobe in hotel room in Elekahia, Rivers State.
The witness, Andy Pius, Managing Director of Tokyo Hotel, who testified in court on Monday before Justice Adolphus Enebeli of Port-Harcourt High Court, said the alleged serial killer lodged in Room 405 of the hotel with a lady on 4 September.
The witness said that David West came to get a room in the hotel with a man and left with him but came back later in the evening with a lady.
He said the alleged serial killer created a scene about N200 change the following day and was around the hotel’s car park.
According to him, they called his room around checkout time the following day but there was no response.
The witness said he used spare key to open the room and found a lady in the wardrobe, who was dead.
According to him, the lady had her neck tied with white handkerchief and her hands tied to her back and her legs also tied.
He said he called the police and they responded immediately and went with him to hotel’s CCTV Room where he played back footage, saying that they saw David West when he first came to lodge and confirmed that dead lady in wardrobe was the one seen in CCTV camera.
He said the police came back to the hotel with the alleged serial killer within days and questioned him about the hotel and the room he lodged in saying that he took them to the room before they left with him.
The witness who identified David West in court said he made statement to operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state.
Under cross-examination by counsel to David West, he said he was arrested by the police and was released on bail.
On cross-examination by counsel to second accused person, the witness said he does not know the second accused, who faces one count charge of misconduct with corpse.
The first accused person, Gracious David West, faces nine counts of murder and one count of attempted murder and is being prosecuted for the alleged murder of different women in hotels in Port-Harcourt and other cities in Nigeria.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges although he pleaded guilty to them at earlier court sitting.
The second accused person, Nimi ThankGod, who was in court has also pleaded not guilty to charge.
