Inter-House Sports: Proprietor, PTA  Chairman Charge Competitors To Aim For Gold

…As All Roads Lead To Brendan Schools, Port Harcourt, Saturday

As preparations for the bi-annual Inter-House Sports competition of Brendan Schools, Apamini Road, Mgbuakara in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, gather momentum, all participating students have been charged to aim for bigger laurels as the event comes up this weekend, Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Speaking while inspecting the students in their final practice session at the schools’ sports field on Monday, the Proprietor of Brendan Schools, Mr. Brendan Umoren charged them to train well to be able to win gold medals as the D-day is just few days to go.

Mr. Umoren urged the students, especially those who took part in last year’s competition to strive and improve on their performances this year, adding that excellent performance would bolster their chances of attaining professionalism in future, with prospect to represent the State and country at national and international competitions.

“It would always be our pleasure to celebrate students who do us proud here and elsewhere. As you train ahead of the event on Saturday, I pray that these little exercises metamorphose to a stepping stone that would catapult you to become future champions in athletics, football and other great sports around the world”, he declared amid a thunderous ‘amen’ from the students.

In the same vein, the newly appointed Chairman of the Brendan Schools’ Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Mr. Sunday Chinwazugem has disclosed that this year’s Brendan School Bi-annual Inter-House Sports Competition would be unique as parents have expressed their willingness to attend and cheer their wards to victory.

Speaking during the inauguration of the new executive on Saturday, Chinwazugem affirmed that the massive presence of parents and visitors would spur participating students and pupils to bring out the best in them.

“I believe that no child would want to let his or her parents down and that is why parents have collectively agreed to throng the field in their numbers to cheer the little athletes.

“Of course we are not forgetting that among the events, there will be ‘Parents’ Race’ which would be spicing and fun-packed. We can’t wait for Saturday!” the PTA Chairman declared.

The new Brendan Schools PTA executive also has Mrs. Ohaka Juliet as Vice Chairman; Mr. Iche Ndamati (Secretary); Mrs. Beatrice Ozuzuezi Agwani (Financial Secretary/Treasurer) with the Editor of National Network newspaper, Mr. Ken Asinobi as Public Relations Officer (PRO).
