Apara Monarch Urges Subjects To Heed Government’s Directives On COVID-19

The monarch of Apara Kingdom, HRM, Eze Chike Amadi Worlu Wodo, has urged the Apara people to adhere strictly to the directives of the Rivers State Government on the coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19.

Eze Wodo who spoke to newsmen in Port-Harcourt said instructions on washing of hands regularly with soap, applying hand sanitizers and maintaining social distancing should be obeyed to the letter.

“The governor’s directive on closure of markets, borders, schools and churches should also be observed as safeguard against the pervasive coronavirus”, the Apara monarch stressed.

Eze Wodo said although the closure of schools, markets, churches and borders will adversely affect the masses, the steps were necessary in order to prevent the virus from spreading in the state.

He appealed to all residents to bear with government as what they are passing through now is temporary and would be over in a short while.

The monarch commended Governor Wike for taking proactive action to curtail the coronavirus from spreading in the State.

“The measures the governor has taken to contain the virus is commendable and I commend him for this”,  Eze Wodo declared.

He told journalists that he has directed town criers to take the message to Apara Kingdom and the people with a warning that they should observe the directives.
