Shop Owners, Residents Call For Adequate Security At Bishop Okoye Market Over Cult Activities
Residents and shop owners at Bishop Okoye Street, Mile 3 diobu, Port Harcourt, have called for adequate security over cult related killings due to ‘matching ground’ levy by armed group.
In an interview with our reporter, the shop owners and residents who did not want their name in print expressed worry that the armed gang may re-group as the Rivers State Government had eased the lockdown which permitted the opening of shops and stores including those at Bishop Okoye.
It would be recalled that a suspected Deygbam cult member simply identified as Leo was shot dead by suspected rival Iceland cult members last Friday at Bishop Okoye.
We learned that four men riding on a Toyota saloon vehicle on getting to where the deceased victim was opened fire on their prey and sped off.
We gathered that persons suspected to be his members put him in a wheelbarrow and took him to a compound in Chigbu street where some of his(deceased) friends reside.
