Crisis Brews In Orazi Community Over Paramount Rulership
There is palpable tension brewing in Orazi Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State as the long existing vacancy of their chieftaincy stool is now the source of problem to them.
According to the statement released by stakeholders of the community, since nature abhors space, one “Ojiowhor” (traditional staff holder) Onyesom J. O. Akaninwor forcefully assumed the position, declared himself the Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli of the community recently, made some appointments, constitute his government and announced the radio in reminiscent of a military coup.
The radical decision has since not only divided the community but has caused confusion in the system.
Some persons have invited the police into the matter while others are spoiling for a fight, but the elders decided to start with the refutal of the action in the media first.
It would be recalled that since the death of the last occupant of the throne, the Orazi Community has been without a Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli for some time.
When asked the elders replied that the second burial of the past traditional ruler is what has stalled the preparation for his successor.
This perhaps gave room for the alleged impostor to assume the traditional seat without consultation of the stakeholders concern.
