…As Gov Wike Redeems N30m Bounty Over Diigbara’s Capture
The last may not have been heard about the escapades of the late serial killer and most wanted kidnapper and murderer, Honest Diigbara, popularly called Boboski who was arrested and killed at about 2.30 am penultimate Saturday at Korokoro – Tai Community in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Information from the Rivers State Police Command revealed that the late Diigbara, who was killed alongside his chauffeur brother, had a medicine man who gave him spiritual protection in course of his evil adventures.
Rivers Police Commissioner, CP Joseph Mukan while briefing journalists in his office in Port Harcourt on Thursday, said the deceased Juju Priest, until his demise served as a useful informant to the police.
The Commissioner said credible information available to the Command revealed that relationship between the killer and his medicine man apparently went sour when Boboski found out that his trusted juju priest had betrayed him.
“Nobody, including the police knew how Honest Diigbara understood that his long-trusted juju priest was acting as informant to the police”, he said, reasoning he must have known this by intuition or by tip off.
CP Mukan also disclosed that the Rivers State Government had redeemed the pledge of N30million bounty promised to be given to anyone who gives information that would lead to the arrest of Boboski.
He described the gesture by the Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as encouraging as it will boost the morale of other citizens to willingly assist the police with useful information when needed.
The State Police boss assured that civilians such as journalists, who partnered with Police to ensure arrest of the kidnapper would benefit from the bounty given by the governor.
