The visiting Nigerian Clergyman based in Dallas, Texas, USA, Bishop David Azenabor, has admonished Christian leaders to close ranks and work towards the propagation of the gospel.
Speaking with Newsmen in Port-Harcourt shortly before his departure at the conclusion of his 3-day National Empowerment Convention for Leaders, Ministers and Workers with the theme, “Doing the Impossible in Challenging times”, the man of God said the major challenges, facing Christianity in the country is disunity.
He said that it is the reason he and some Christian leaders came up with the idea of what he called “Agape Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International (AFOCMI)”.
Bishop Azenabor explained that “once you are registered as an AFOCMI member in any part of the world, one stands to get all the benefits and support from other members in other part of the world who is in need”.
The man of God said with this type of attitude and frame of minds, Christians would be able to unite and speak with one loud voice especially on issues concerning the things of God or their common challenges.
He explained further that with that kind of AFOCMI spirit as noted in First Corinthians (3 – 6), where Apostle Paul planted but Apollos watered and God gave the increase all towards one goal.
Bishop Azenabor further illustrated that for the maximum utilization of a Church building for instance, ten different Pastors of different denominations can use one auditorium for their worships at different times, to the glory of God and thereby saving cost. You would recall that AFOCMI South-South Zone had organized a 3-day National Conference in Port-Harcourt in conjunction with Creative Pastors, Creative People (CP2) and in collaboration with the Pentecostal Church of God. This programme which was held at the Atrium Event Centre, Port-Harcourt over the weekend witnessed most powerful men of God as speakers.
They included Bishop Dr. Mike Graham (USA), Pastor David Ibiyieomie (PH), Rev (Dr.) Felix Omobude (PFN National President), Bishop Great Eromosele (Abuja), Bishop Sunny Iredia (Benin) and Rev. Ethel Odungide (Uyo).
Free medical checkups for Pastors and Leaders as well as free expository bible study were part of the fringe benefits to members and guests alike.
The South-South Co-coordinator of the group, Rev (Dr.) Augustine Essien in his contribution expressed happiness that the programme went satisfactorily, “we thank God for the clement weather and successes recorded”, he stated.
