PFN Mourns Victims Of PH Polo Club Tragedy, Sues For Calm

The South-South Zone of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has expressed shock and sadness over the tragic incident at the Polo Club in Port Harcourt that resulted in the death of several people last Saturday.

PFN in a statement signed by the National Vice President, (South South), Apostle (Dr) Zilly Aggrey, condoled with the bereaved families and prayed God for the repose of their souls.

Apostle Aggrey said the prayers and thoughts of the church are with the families, that the Lord Jesus Christ would give them peace and strength to stand stronger in times like this.

“We also empathize and condole with the Leadership of Kings Assembly who in obedience to the injunctions of the Owner of the Church, Jesus Christ, for the past four years, has been reaching out to many people all over the State and beyond through this charity program.

“There is no doubt that this good works and acts that have been on for four years now have alleviated the pains and sufferings of many families in the State”, he said.

The South-South PFN boss also conveyed the deep sympathies of National President in the unfortunate tragedy, but charged Christians not to be deterred from reaching out to God’s people in times of need as, according to him.

“It is our mandate as the Church of Jesus Christ to touch lives particularly those of them in need”.

Apostle Aggrey while commending the efforts of the Rivers PFN Chairman as well as King’s Assembly in handling the situation since the ugly event occurred, prayed for strength for the leadership of the church and charged them not to be discouraged in affecting positively the lives of the less privileged in our society, particularly in Rivers State.

While also suing for calm , the PFN leader called on the general public to refrain from unguided and unauthenticated statements, adding that in times like this, what the bereaved families need is prayers and support .

“The Church and the people of Godwill continue to march on and the gates of hell shall not prevail over them”, he said.
