A former chairmanship aspirant of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Hon Goodluck Nwobike, has congratulated the elected candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the chairmanship position, Hon Engr. Samuel Nwanosike at the party primaries.
Speaking with newsmen at the venue of the primaries Omagwa, over the weekend, Sir Nwobike said that though he is boiling to serve his people in whatever position available, a lot still depends on the party stakeholders whom he noted has the final say.
“The party is Supreme and there is nothing to jubilate about because nothing was lost,” he said.
Dr. Nwobike maintained that he has the dream and passion to serve his people either through elective or appointive position, adding that Ikwerre Local Government is not in deficit of focused leaders but in dare need of faithful, honest and trusted servants in whatever capacity.
Chief Nwobike used the opportunity to congratulate the Emohua Local Government chairmanship candidate, Hon Chidi Lloyd and his PDP Kelga Ward One, Ogbodo councillorship candidate, Hon Caleb Orji for their electoral victories at the primaries and promised to lend his support and that of his supporters to ensure their total victory at the main contest come April 17, 2021.
“In the overall interest of our party, we shall mobilize support to ensure victory for all our candidates in order to consolidate on the achievements of our governor in the state and as well go ahead to capture the 2023 presidential election.
He said one can only aspire for an elective position but is still subject to the whims and caprices of the party stakeholders who knows better and that as a loyal party member, one has to pipe low and perhaps wait for another opportunity that must surely come.
He equally used the opportunity to advise aggrieved members of the party to come back to the PDP fold and mobilize support for the party as there is no other formidable party in the whole of Africa than the PDP.
