A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDD) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Elder Emmanuel Nwabrije has said that the ongoing campaigns being vigorously carried out by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the state, ahead of the April 17 polls, are in order.
Nwabrije, a former Governorship candidate of Democratic People’s Party (DPP) in the 2019 governorship Elections, said although there appeared to be no clear formidable opposition in view, the PDP had to embark on electioneering campaign in line with the Electoral law.
He said that statutory obligations apart, participating parties were required to canvass for votes by presenting their candidates as well as manifestos to the electorates who will make informed decisions to vote or not to vote for the party.
The veteran media practitioner who isthe Chairman of the Media Sub Committee of the ONELGA PDP Campaign Council, further added what he said is the necessity to let ONELGANS understand the caliber of persons jostling for seats in the Council.
The former guber candidate who explained that his defection to the PDP was premised on shared goals and aspirations, described the PDP as the most organized political association in the state, adding that the April 17 Local Government polls would just be a walk over for the party.
“But, that’s not saying that we should take things for granted and go to sleep. I enjoin all ONELGANS to come out enmasse on April 17 and vote for all PDP candidates including Chairmanship hopeful, Chief Vincent Job”, he said.
While lauding the successful flag off and taking the Campaign to the respective Districts in ONELGA, the ex-guber candidate said the PDP in ONELGA has shown capacity in the choice of candidates and constitution of the ONELGA Campaign Council, and praised Council Chairman, Chief (Amb.) Victor Ifeanyi Odili for a successful tenure with visible achievements that is speaking volume.
Elder Emmanuel Nwabrije also gave kudos to the leader of the PDP in ONELGA and Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah for carrying everyone along, which has made the PDP in ONELGA a big, strong and united family.
