PDP Chieftain Lauds Wike’s Leadership Style
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, Chief Dr. Goodluck Nwobike has commended the leadership qualities of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike which he noted, has continue to mesmerize the other political parties.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday, June 7, 2021 during the official flag-off of the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular, Diagnostic and Treatment Centre, Rumuokwuta, he made it known that while many governors and stakeholders of different political parties are busy negotiating for 2023 general election, Gov Wike is busy flagging-off and commissioning people oriented projects as if he is in his first tenure, thereby confusing more people particularly the opposition parties.
The Kelga Ward One PDP chieftain, Ogbodo Isiokpo stated that the uncommon commitment of the Governor in the education and health sectors is unprecedented.
According to him, “the Mother and Child Hospital just commissioned and the Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases Diagnostic and Treatment Centre would not only stop wealthy patients from seeking medical help overseas but would become medical tourism and referral centre from other States of the federation”.
He said Governor Wike’s scorecards for each year of his six years in office have demonstrated his desire to reposition and re-engineer the State to an enviable height to the envy of others.
He noted that Wike by his actions and performance has proved prophets of doom and agents of destabilization in the state wrong with his landmark achievements in all sectors and throughout the nooks and crannies of the state.
“Gov Wike emerged the Governor of Rivers State at a time when the state was at a crossroad and in dare need of a savior”, he said.
For us mortal it was a surprise, but to God Almighty it was divine and for a purpose indeed,” he stated.
Dr. Nwobike was also excited at the flag-off of the projects situated at the Nigeria Law School, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State which he noted is in the interest of the South-South Zone and the production of more quality lawyers in the country.
He used the opportunity to appreciate the governor for recognizing and immortalizing the former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili for his role in ensuring that his successor emerged from the Ikwerre extraction which also benefitted him (Wike).
Chief Nwobike equally used the opportunity to congratulate the governor for what he described as his superlative performance in office while affirming the support of his people to the Wike administration in order to actualize his dreams for the State.
