The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has relieved the Commissioner of Sports, Boma Iyaye of the management of Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt.
Governor Wike, in a terse announcement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, Friday, directed the Commissioner of Sports, Boma Iyaye to immediately submit every file relating to Rivers United Football Club to the Government House, Port Harcourt.
According to the statement the management of Rivers United Football Club will henceforth be under the office of the Governor of Rivers State.
No official reason was given for the sudden and surprise development.
