Defection: Sheikh Gumi Takes On FFK

…Calls Him Judas

Controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has called a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode ‘Judas of Oduduwa’.

This followed the latter’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday.

Gumi in a post on Facebook titled ‘Judas of Oduduwa’, also described Fani-Kayode as fake and a traitor.

“I have for long, neglected the rantings of the Judas of Oduduwa attacking me knowing fully well that he is fake and a traitor.

“Time has now caught up with him and thanks to Allah, all his vituperations are cast in the dustbin of merciless history.

“It is him now, one wonders which of the seven circles of hell this duper will settle if he doesn’t repent,” he said.

Fani-Kayode was on Thursday presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the APC, and governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Fani-Kayode, who has recently been hobnobbing with APC chieftains and bigwigs, said he was led by God in his decision.

The former minister, known for his inconsistent stance on public issues, added that he joined the APC to help unite the country.

According to him, he was against anything that would cause the disintegration of Nigeria.

He also claimed he was instrumental to the defection of three PDP governors to the APC.

He identified the governors as Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.

He further said he has friends across party lines and was wooing the governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed to also join the ruling party.

However, two years ago following rumours that the former Minister had joined the APC, he completely ruled out the possibility of defecting to the ruling party.

Taking to Twitter, he described the ruling party as “a filthy, rat-infested sinking ship.”

He also called the party “darkness” and “the Almajiri Peoples Congress (APC)”.

He said at the time, “The suggestion that l joined the APC is false and insulting. Those that are peddling this fake news should bury their heads in shame. With what we have witnessed, l would rather die than join a filthy, rat-infested sinking ship like the Almajiri Peoples Congress (APC).

“I am committed to opposing the APC and those that are in their ranks for the rest of my natural life and I will NEVER join them no matter what! They are nothing but darkness whilst l stand for the light of God and truth: there can be NO fellowship between light and darkness.”
