2023: Rivers PFN Galvanizes Christians Participation

…Sets Up Directorate Of Politics, Governance

As political players continue to permutate and strategize ahead of the 2023 General Elections, the Christian community are also taking proactive steps to ensure they are not left out of the picture.

To realize that objective, the Rivers State branch of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), an arm of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has set up what it called the Directorate of Politics and Governance.

Addressing a press conference in Port Harcourt on Monday, the Rivers State Chairman of PFN, Rev. Dr. Minaibi Dagogo Jack said the days when the body of Christ sits back and allow politicians take over the political space are over, adding that Christians will not be in the center stage, deploying both spiritual and material arsenal at its disposal to ensure the righteous take the realm of leadership come 2023.

Dagogo Jack expressed optimism that God has answered the prayers of his children with the Presidential accent to the Electoral Bill, adding “There won’t be such thing as snatching of ballot papers anymore”.

The PFN State Chairman noted with joy, that since politics is a game of numbers, Christians in the country would leverage on their numbers to sway the tide to their favour.

“The population of Christians in Nigeria is more than 60 million, and with just half of that number, we will decide elections in the country”, he said.

Rev. Dr. Dagogo Jack who was accompanied to the press conference by Rivers PFN executive members announced the convention of a mega rally holding at the Yakubu Gowon Liberation Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt from Tuesday, March 8, 2022 to Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

The crusade which is tagged, ‘Take Over’, he said, would feature prayers for Rivers State and Nigeria, assuring that salvation, healings, breakthroughs and impartations are guaranteed to all participants.

According to him, “The churches have agreed to rise up to their responsibility.  As a change agent, we want to take over.

“Individual churches have been preaching but now, under corporate grace, we believe God is going to do a new thing.  The state, country and all citizens will not remain the same after this crusade”.

The clergyman further disclosed that aside the crusade that would hold at the Elekahia Stadium on Tuesday, March 8, 2022; the project would also feature a Ministers Conference on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Salvation Ministries Headquarters, Birabi Street, GRA, Port Harcourt; and a Youth Mega Rally at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Green Pastures Parish, Elekahia on Tuesday, 8th March, 2022.

Some ministers of the gospel expected to speak at the crusade include Pastor George Izunwa; Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Apostle Zilly Aggrey among others, with song ministration by Chioma Jesus and Nathaniel Bassey.
