A political group under the aegis of Amaechi Grassroot Network (AGN) said they are mobilizing support for the aspiration of the former Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to succeed his boss, President Mohammadu Buhari in the 2023 general election.
Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt over the weekend, the Director, Media and Publicity of the group, Engr. Isichei Jude said Rt. Hon. Amaechi has earned the confidence of Nigerians over the years having been tested and trusted in various capacities.
“As a two term governor of River State, two term chairman of the governor’s forum and the two term chairman of the speakers forum where he proved himself worthy what else would qualify a leader to lead a country like Nigeria,” he queried.
The Director made it clear that Amaechi has the capacity and political will to turn around the fortune of the country and is within the age bracket that the masses are clamouring for.
He recalled the security situation in Rivers State when Amaechi assumed duty as the governor in 2007 but had to take the war to the cultists camp and restored calm in the state, adding that in the same vein the insecurity that is ravaging the country will be a thing of the past should the Minister of Transportation takes over the driving seat of the country.
The media director disclosed further that as an action leader who is prepared for leadership with his blue print, he will tackle the country’s challenges from all sectors including forcing down prices of food stuffs in the interest of the common man.
In his contribution, the National president of the group, Hon Williams Ikhile said in addition to Amaechi own blue print, Amaechi as a leader with listening ear, will be ready to equally consider the agenda which the six (6) geopolitical zones of their group will pass to him after wide consultation.
“Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi we are sure will also ensure that not only that the four refineries are made functional and about 40% of the crude oil mined in the country are refined within with its attendant bye products as benefits”.
He also said their principal has good contacts oversees to attract suitable foreign investors who would be willing to invest heavily in the country given a conducive business environment.
He equally disclosed that besides, Amaechi their principal is a marketable product which is very easy to market to Nigerians as he is a team player who is acceptable by all the zones of the country.
Hon. Ikhile promised that in no distance time, the AGN will launch out to Nigerians and that there have little or no challenges with other aspirants in their effort to install their principal when they are set, assuring that Nigeria will be great again, noting that all along, leadership has been the bane of the country.
