The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka on Monday September 4,2023 paraded four Policemen attached to a neighbouring state command over alleged extortion of money from three persons in Port Harcourt.
The four officers were said to have extorted N6.5million from three men after accusing them of being internet fraudsters.
He said the Nigeria Police, the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police never asked any officer to commit crime and so the public should not generalize an alleged crime committed by a single Police Officer.
CP Emeka stated that in a follow up to death of a cultist, a kidnapper, Temple Woko was arrested in connection with the case at Rumuodogo.
He revealed that two suspects were fatally wounded, one AK 47 riffle,6 magazines recovered.
The Rivers Police boss said on 30th August, 2023 detectives of the command received a distess call that a motorcycle had been snatched from the rider around Choba axis.
He stated the Police quickly mobilized and tracked the Yahama motorcycle to Abuja waterfront where one Gift was arrested the following day.
