A Political Association under the aegis of Team Felix Obuah (TFO), has thrown its weight behind the aspirations of Bro Felix Obuah and Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the governor of Rivers State and president of Nigeria respectively come 2023 general election.
Rising from its State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting over the weekend in Port Harcourt where an eight point communiqué was raised, it said the need to sustain and advance the “historic progress” recorded in the state in the last seven years makes the choice of Obuah imperative.
The group also stated that the excellent performance of governor Nyesom Wike especially his stance as a pillar of democracy, true federalism and good governance in Nigeria as well as his giant strides in the last seven years makes his choice a better candidate to rescue the country at this point in time.
In the communiqué signed by its Director-General, Comrade Precious Baridoo, Deputy Director-General, Hon. Miller C, Ogwu; Secretary General Hon Abebego Oli and P.R.O. Chief (Dr) Goodluck Nwobike, the group lauded Wike for his determination in keeping the state peaceful and safe for vital investment to strive in all sectors of the economy.
The group equally praised the governor for raising the bar of leadership and infrastructural development as well as steering the wheels of the state to an enviable heights.
They used the chance of the briefing to not only endorse the presidential ambition of governor Wike but urged the other aspirants especially from the Northern part of the country to step down for Wike because of his sterling qualities as well as his sacrifices in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
They also used the opportunity to urge the former PDP state chairman, Bro Felix Amaechi Obuah to heed the clarion call of Rivers people whom he has touched their lives in various ways, to declare for the position of governor of the state come 2023.
Endorsing Obuah for governor, the group said his choice is based on his humanitarian stance and life philosophy of “Go Round” of amenities to everybody.
“Obuah endorsement is based on his experience, capacity, character, antecedents, vision, his consistency and loyalty to PDP as well as his deep understanding of the New Rivers Vision including his passion to defend the interest of the people and state”, they noted.
While commending the PDP state Executives led by His Excellency Amb. Desmond Akawor for their resilience, the group appealed to all members of the party to close ranks and work harder with the unity of purpose to ensure victory for the party in the 2023 general election.
The group also urged the PDP to offer Bro Felix Obuah the right of first refusal based on what it called his landmark achievements and performance as PDP state chairman for eight years. Adding that his acceptability and followership which cut across the state is an added advantage for PDP to win election seamlessly any day.
In their solidarity speeches, Hon. Chima Nsirim and Prince Chris Amaechi said they were very sure that Obuah would be given the mandate going by his sterling qualities and favourable disposal right from the time he was elected the Omoku Youth President and eventually the ONELGA Council Chairman.
“Obuah’s followership cut across ethnic and political affiliations and so would make it very easy to win election any day, any time.
They separately called for the PDP and the people to give the philanthropist extraordinaire a chance to keep on improving the people’s welfare which he has been doing even in his private capacity.
Prince Amaechi made it known that he personally flew in from the United States of America (USA) just to boost the chances for Obuah in the governorship race “and we are sure that his humanitarian disposition will guarantee electoral victory for the PDP,” he said.
