Party Chairman Worried Over Non Challant Attitude Of Ogoni Leaders

The South-South Chairman of Labour Party, Hon Prince Felix Favour Reuben has expressed worry over the killings in his Ogoni country home, adding that it is a thing of great concern to him that even the elected representatives are silent over the disturbing development.

Prince Reuben who is also the chairman of Vanguard of Ogoni Nation (VOON) disclosed that the boys appears not to be fighting a supremacy cult war as the attack is selected and targeted at some persons.

According to him, “these boys are hungry and want to make their grievance known, having been used and dumped by the politicians”.

He made it known that if the political leaders refused to do or say something and the innocent blood are continuously spilled, that their blood will be on the leaders head.

On the current security architecture recently launched by the governor, Prince Favour said, unless the “Operation Sting” locate its branch to Ogoniland, their work would not complete.

He also used the opportunity to advocate for the citing of police stations to Yokana, Babe and K-Khana to be able to achieve set goal proactively.

The labour chairman also advised that all the police officers in Ogoniland should be transferred and the security architecture changed if meaningful achievements must be made in this direction.

He made it clear that Vanguard of Ogoni Nation (VOON) is one of the socio-political groups in Ogoniland whose objectives is to coordinate other groups to enhance peace, unity and progress of the area, adding that the Ogoni people are lagging behind due to disunity.

On the UNEP clean up by the Federal Government, Prince Favour said that contrary to speculation, the project is on-going and should be encouraged by all instead of unnecessary criticism.

“I don’t like people who criticize just everything and everybody. Even the Rivers State governor, Wike, some people said he has not done anything instead of perhaps criticizing him constructively and encouraging him where he has not done well,” he declared.

He stated categorically that perhaps what mischieve makers are looking for with the killings is to divert the federal government attention from the on-going clean up exercise.
