The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Rivers State Council has expressed shock over the sudden demise of its member, Joseph AjamieweEzuma of Correspondents’ Chapel.
A statement signed by the Assistant Secretary of the union, Esther Obialor said Ezuma died on Monday morning after a brief illness. He was a pioneer executive member of Correspondents’ Chapel of Rivers State Council.
“The State Council condoles with his wife, daughter and members of the Correspondent’s Chapel of the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
“The news of Ezuma’s demise is not just shocking but has left a great vacuum in the Journalism profession as his wealth of experience was still needed to impact on the younger generations.
“He was a prolific writer and an astute professional with core ethical and high moral standards, whose contributions to the growth of the union cannot be quantified”, the NUJ said, adding that the State Council will miss him greatly but takes solace in the fact that the indelible marks he left in the union will forever remain green in the hearts of members and colleagues alike.
The body prayed God to accept his gentle soul in his bosom.
