As the race for the 2023 general elections heats up across the country, the Solidarity and Restoration Movement have purchased the expression of Interest and Nomination forms for Amb. Okorinama West, fondly called Shaggy to contest for the Asari-Toru Constituency II seat at the Rivers State House of Assembly, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Comrade Tekena Harry, the Director General of the Solidarity Movement, they were highly elated that the aspirant accepted the offer to run for the Assembly seat.
He said Shaggy has the capacity to give his people quality representation at the Rivers State House of Assembly, that is the sole reason they were able to raise fund to get him the forms, while describing him as an agent of change.
Mr. Bekinabo Daniel Johnbull in his speech said Shaggy is the best among all the other contestants because of his magnanimity and generosity even when he is not in office.
He reiterated that Shaggy remained the best due to his honesty, accessibility and his undiluted love for his people. He urged the people of Asalga Constituency II not to let this opportunity pass them by, as Shaggy is the answer to their prayers, while urging them to give their total support to him.
Responding, Amb. Shaggy thanked the people for the show of love and promised not to let them down if given the opportunity.
Displaying the forms before his supporters at the party secretariat, he said his decision to join the race was informed by the people’s prompting and for their betterment.
The event attracted political stalwarts, key APC stakeholders of Asalga, youths, men and women.
