Senator Abe Mourns Abueh, Says Death Painful, Shocking

The death of retired Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Late Monday Abueh continues to elicit reactions from different quarters with mourners lamenting the loss of the Ogoni son.

Expressing his deep-seated condolences on Friday,, former representative of Rivers South-East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, sympathized with the people of Okwali in Nyokhana District of Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State over Abueh’s demise.

Abe, in a statement by his spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson, described the death of late Custom’s boss as painful and shocking.

He said it was a great loss to the Ogoni people as Abueh was not only a leading business man but one whose investments in Ogoni-land has added value and increased the economic life of the people.

The Senator said: “Late Monday Abueh even in retirement continued to invest in people and in Ogoni-land. His economic and social footprints are visible across Rivers State and beyond.

“Monday Abueh would be greatly missed because of his commitment and love for business development and economic improvement of his people.

“I pray that other Ogoni business men will key into the vision and desire of Monday Abueh to invest into Ogoni-land in order to lift the people from economic strangulation”, Senator Abe said, praying that his soul finds rest in God’s bosom.
