Oba Of Ogbaland Congratulates Provost, FCE(T) Omoku, Dr. Ikenyiri On His Re-appointment

The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Oba Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III has congratulated the Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, Rivers State. Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri, KSC on his re-appointment for a second term in office.

The Ogba Monarch who spoke while receiving the Provost in his Palace on Thursday, 7th July, 2022 commended President Muhammadu Buhari and all those who made the re-appointment possible and described the re-appointment as a step in the right direction considering the achievement recorded by Dr. Ikenyirie in his first tenure.

He commended the Provost and his management team for the achievements recorded so far especially the affiliation with two notable institutions; University of Nigeria, Nsukka and University of Uyo, commencement of fencing of the College permanent site (Campus II) and prophesized that the college with its rapid development will soon be upgraded to a full-fledged university and called on the federal Government, National University Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and the National Assembly(NASS) to do the needful in that regard. The Eze-Ogba promised to contribute his quota towards the growth of the College as it is the only tertiary institution in Orashi Region of Rivers State.

In his speech, the Chairman Education Committee, Oba’s Palace Omoku, Professor (Hon.) John ChukwumaImegi (KSM) who was on the Provost entourage thanked the Ogba Monarch for the love and concern he has so far shown for the peace, unity, development and education forwardness of Ogba kingdom since his coronation October last year and assured him of the support of the elites from the area to enable him succeed.

Earlier, the highly elated Provost, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri, KSC had told the Eze-Ogba that he was in the palace to formally inform him of his re-appointment for a second term by the Federal Government.

He thanked his host (the Oba) for all he has been doing for the College just as his father did and urged him to continue in that spirit.

The Provost who briefed the Eze-Ogba about the achievements and developments of the College in recent time, lamented the activities of herdsmen and their cows in the Campus II of the institution and appealed to him, his Chiefs and other stakeholders in the area to intervene as herdsmen and their cows apart from destroying College and Students demonstration farms also chase out staff and students from their offices and lecture halls

According to a press statement issued by the P.R.O of the College, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh JP, highlight of the visit was Royal blessing of the Provost by the Oba-Ogba of Ogbaland.
