Asalga APC Canvasses Active Participation Of Members In PVC Registration

The All Progressives Congress in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State has canvassed for the active participation of their members in the on-going registration and collection of Permanent Voters’ Card.

APC candidate for State House of Assembly election, Amb. Okorinama West at an interactive/ sensitization programme organized by the party at Buguma City on Friday, July 15, 2023 enjoined all party members to participate in the on-going voters’ registration exercise to enable them choose the right person that will lead them after the next year during the 2023 general election.

He said without their PVCs it would be impossible for them to vote during the elections.

According to him, the APC is now set to take over power from the PDP at the LGA and the state at large due to bad governance.

His words, “Are we set to win the forthcoming elections? If yes, then everyone of us must get our PVC’s to vote out this bad government because they are doing nothing. Since they said power belongs to the people, our PVC’s are our right to take back the power we once gave to them”.

Amb. West urged them to encourage their families and friends to get their PVC’s as the era of snatching ballot boxes has gone. He further advised the youths to shun social vices so as not to destroy their future.

Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree on his part dismissed the insinuation that the exit of some high profile members has created cracks in Asalga APC. He said he is very optimistic that in coming days more persons from PDP and other political parties will align with them for the betterment of the party, arguing that no other political party could gather such mammoth crowd as they did last week Friday.

He assured them of not leaving the party for any reason because he has contributed so much to the party and will stand by the party even if he is the only one left because it is not possible for someone to build a house and allow the house to be destroyed.

“I am going nowhere, this is my party, I will stand, fight and defend APC even if I am the only one left. So don’t be deceived Ojukaye is going nowhere,” he declared.

Hon. Flag-Amachree reiterated that his support for the party is unshaken because APC is the only party that has favoured the people of Kalabari, and urged all and sundry to give their full support to all the APC candidates, saying any house that is divided against itself cannot stand. “We don’t want any form of division again, we must be united, primaries have come and gone,” he stated.

The leader of APC in Asalga, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Joeba West and Pastor Baere Samuel Horsfall, the Chairman of APC in the LGA in their separate speeches said the gathering was to let the world know that APC is alive is still  Asalga and to urged the members to remain united and strong.

They said with the help of everybody’s support the party will coast to victory by the grace of God. On the issue of PVC’s, they said the party has done a lot on mobilization sensitization of their people to register and collect their PVC’s.
