Get Ready To Defend Your Right – Fubara

…As Sensitization Train Moves To PHALGA

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State for the 2023 elections, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has called on the people of Abua and Odual to obtain their permanent voters cards to express their rights in 2023.

Fubara made this known on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at GDI organised PVC sensitisation held in Abua, the headquarters of Abua/Odual local government area of the state.

He confidently assured the people of Abua/Odual that their PVC will make the difference in the coming poll as they will overcome their political opponents and expressed satisfaction with the level of mobilisation and advised them to secure their PVC, while making sure that nobody is left behind in the process of getting their voting right.

The Chief of Staff to the Rivers state government, Chief Emeka Woke in his Speech acknowledged the preparedness of the Abua/Odual people for the task ahead commending them for their massive mobilisation and assured them that the era of political thuggery and intimidation is over.

And asked them to remain firm in their resolve to identify with good governance.

Woke noted that out of the 17 political parties gubernatorial candidates in Rivers state, published by INEC, that none has the pedigree compared to the candidate of the PDP , Sir Siminalayi Fubara a seasoned administrator and technocrat with vast experience in governance.

Dr George Benibo the Secretary of PDP in Rivers state speaking on behalf of Amb Desmond Akawor the State Chairman, admired the intense mobilization of the people for the PVC sensitization, adding that it clearly expressed the consciousness and preparedness of the people towards the 2023 election.

The President General of the Grassroot Development Initiative, Chief Bright Amewhule during his speech thanked the GDI family in Abua/Odual Local Government Area for the warm reception given to Sir Siminalayi Fubara, his entourage and his team.

He appealed to the people to make sure that they collect and secure their PVCs, because it’s their right to vote in people of proven credibility.

He further charged the people not to be intimidated by any individual in any disguise.

Meanwhile, it was another moment of pomp and pageantry as hundreds of Port Harcourt city residents trooped out to the Elekahia Primary school field in Port Harcourt City local Government area  for the PVC Sensitization rally organised by the Grassroots Development initiative, GDI.

The programme which began with a rally/jiration session by the twenty wards in the Local Government area was proceeded by Solidarity speeches rendered by political  leaders of the area and other stakeholders, including the Chairman of Inter Party Advisory council, IPAC, Ambassador Desmond Akawor who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State.

In his speech Ambassador Akawor who said he had come to lend support to the GDI because of the importance of the Permanent Voters cards to the citizenry, commended the organisation for what it is doing in educating the people on the need to obtain their voters cards.

The IPAC Chairman who described the crowd at the Port Harcourt rally as “Sea of human beings and Operation thunderbolt”, noted that the crowd he saw at Etche was incomparable to what he saw in Port Harcourt.

On his part the Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Amaopusenibo Siminialayi Fubara advised the people to secure their Permanent Voters cards.

You know before now you were coming to the rally with your PVC and i advised against it because you might misplace it. One vote is important to us.

We have the number but we need to add more so that when we win we win with a larger margin  that you cannot even protest the win”.

He appealed to those who had already registered to go and collect their PVC disclosing that there are several PVCS at INEC offices across the state that are yet to be collected .

Also present at the rally were the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate, Professor Ngozi Ordu, LGA chairmen, members of the state and national assembly, PDP Deputy Chairman Hon Chukwuemeka Aaron,  the State Secretary, of the party, Dr Benibo George as well as candidates, Captains of industry, other top government officials including the state Executive committee of the Peoples Democratic Party and various other groups
