More Rivers APC Bigwigs Decamp To PDP
The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has again suffered tsunami following the defection of two prominent members of the party to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Information reaching National Network says a former Rivers State Organizing Secretary of the APC, Hon. Dandyson Uku and former State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, and a chieftain of the party in Orashi Region, Hon. Samuel Eyiba, are amongst several others who have taken the bold steps to walk away from the party in Rivers State.
In recent months, the APC in Rivers State has suffered tremendous humiliation, as high ranking party members have abandoned the party under the leadership of the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to join forces with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It is reliably gathered that other close allies of the former Transportation Minister, are making make eleventh hour decisions to abandon the APC.
A recent parley with the Rivers State Chairman of PDP, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, reinforced the information, as he hinted that a proposed reception of members of APC who have decided to dump the party, will be tagged the “eleventh hour” home coming.
With the APC in Rivers State still brooding the loss of high profile members like Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, Dawari George and lately, the Spokesperson of the party in the state, Chris Finebone, all of whom are close allies of former Transportation Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the numbers continue to drift as the weeks pass on.
