PDP Crisis: Awuse Calls For Sincerity, Sense Of Understanding

Elder statesman and paramount ruler of Emohua Community, Ohna Sergeant Awuse has urged the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to have a sense of understanding in resolving the crisis rocking the party. 

The veteran politician who is now a ranking member of the Rivers State traditional rulers council (1st class), stated that the PDP cannot progress in lies and deceit, stressing that the sincerity and integrity of PDP leaders is of great importance to the survival and progress of the party ahead of the 2023 general election.

Sergeant Awuse who spoke with journalists on Monday urged the PDP to maintain its zoning formula for the interest of the party as Nigeria prepares for another transition.

Speaking on the possibility of having a free and fair general election in Nigeria in 2023, the 1st class traditional ruler urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure it upholds the electronic transmission of votes, to consolidate on the successes recorded in the nation’s electoral system in parts of the country where elections were conducted recently by the electoral umpire.

He however called on the people of Rivers State to participate actively in the 2023 election to elect leaders at several levels that will move the country and the state forward.
