Former APC Party Chairman Defects To PDP In Ogu/Bolo
The immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Tamunosiki Tiene on Saturday, October 15, 2022 defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking at the defection ceremony organized by the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogu in honour of all the returnees, Hon. Tiene said his decision to join the PDP was based on the constructive leadership style that has help put the party into reckoning as a competent party that will continue to win elections.
He said politics is all about winning noting that it is when the party wins election, the members will benefit saying that while in APC he worked tirelessly at the 2015 elections but they could not win any political seat,” the worst is that we even went ahead to borrow a political party, it ended in futility. So I decided to pin my tent with PDP for us to win election”, he explain.
Hon. Tiene averred that APC as a political party has no good plans and agenda for the country rather the change they promised was a negative change of sorrows and hardship upon the citizens of Nigerian.
He thanked members of the party for accepting him back home with open hands, saying as one of the founding members of PDP he is back to where he belonged.
He pledged his loyalty to the party leadership at all levels and urged his followers and fellow returnees to be loyal and upright in their service to the party and also called on the remaining APC members to join the winning party for the betterment of Rivers State.
Hon Vincent Nimieboka, the Council Boss in his speech commended Hon. Tiene and other Returnees for their decision to come back home, saying that it was significant to note that some the returnees were pioneer members of the party and enjoined them to use their wealth of experience to join hands with the leaders to ensure PDP wins the 2023 general elections as usual.
The Ogu/Bolo PDP Chairman Marcus Thompson who welcome the returnees to the PDP described them as people of immense electoral value in the local government and assured that their full rights and privileges will be accorded them without reservation, stressing that the party is united and ready to win the 2023 general elections.
Some of the notable names who dumped APC for PDP include Chief William Enos Idamaya, Chief Barr. Lawrence Abiebiary, Mr. Fineface Angbara.
