Reactions Trail INEC Displayed Voters List For 2023 Elections

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) displays. The names of voters in its voters list in Rivers State for next year’s general elections those whose names appeared on the list have spoken on the forthcoming elections and need for their voter to count.

Speaking in an interview after locating her name on the list on November 15, Mrs Joy Sunny Amaewhule, from Ward 13, Rumuadaolu in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, said that she was excited to locate her name on the list saying that she was looking forward to voting in next year’s general elections.

Mrs Amaewhule said: “I’ve been searching for it since yesterday. Luckly, I saw it this morning. I’ll be a partaker of the election in 2023. The election in 2023 should not be as usual. At least, at the end of the election our votes should vote”.

She said those running for political office for whom voter would cast their ballot should ensure they keep their promises to promote development in the country at both state and national levels. “We don’t care to know of the party. God should just bring somebody from any party who can deliver the country that is what we are praying for”, she said.

Also speaking, another voter, Town planner Harrison, who is also from Ward 13, Rumuadaolu also said he was pleased to find his name on the list but said that he needed to have his voters card.

Harrison said that INEC displayed sincerity in displaying the list of voters.

He said: “We are ready to vote. We are ready for the election. It’s just for then, to make sure that everybody that have registered for this exercise have their name displayed their PVC given they we are good to go”.

On her part, Mrs Nora Chibundo Ajoku, said that she was ready to cast her vote for any candidate of her choice in next year’s general elections.

She said that she wants her vote to count in addition to other votes to determine those who would win in next year’s general elections saying those who would win should work for the progress of the state and the country.

Another voter, Janet Ernest Essien, said she was also happy to locate her name on the INEC voters list saying it means she will vote in next year’s general elections.

She said she expects her vote to count adding: “Those to be voted for if elected should put things in order to make life easy for the people”.

She said that the electoral umpire should conduct free and fair elections devoid of violence.

Reacting on the displayed voters list Emmanuel Nyenaehor, said that he would cast his vote for political candidates in next year’s general elections and said that he would want his vote to count.

He said that it’s not actually about running for elections but doing what the people want if elected on the basis of their votes.
