Opobo/Nkoro Vice Chair Felicitates With Classmates

…As GGSS, Harbour Road Class ‘92 Celebrates 30th Reunion

As celebration fever grips the 1992 set of Government Girls Secondary School (now Methodist Girls High School), Harbour Road, Port Harcourt on their 30th Anniversary Reunion which holds from 1st to 4th of December, 2022, messages of felicitations have continued to pour in as a show of solidarity among the former school mates.

In her goodwill message to her erstwhile classmates ahead of the epochal event, the Vice Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area (ONOLGA), Hon. Amb. (Dr.) Angela Anthony Oju-Kienmie, prayed God who has brought them this far to continue to abide with them and their families.

The Vice Chairman who is also the Supervisor for Health in the council opened her heart and showered more prayers for the old girls.

“May God bless our teachers who laid positive foundation which has helped us to excel in our various professions.  God bless GGSS, Harbour Road Class of 92.

 I hail her for her discipline and rejoice for the sake of truth, knowledge and service”, Oju-Kienmie supplicated, as she used the medium to pray God for fortitude to the families of classmates and teachers who have passed on.

“On the dates, uniforms and venue for the respective events billed for the 30th Reunion, the Harbour Road old girl announced them to hold as follows:

“Thursday, 1st December, 2022….A time out with our juniors at our alma mater.

We’ll be giving them a talk on career choices. They will shortly be served lunch in buffet dishes.

We also plan to give them gift bags containing a small towel and sanitary pads.

Our attire for this event will be our school uniform.  Time will be 10:30am.

“Friday, 2nd December, 2022…We’ll go to Pleasure Park. Our attire will be A black Jean, black tennis shoes and our hoodies.  Time will be 3pm.

“Saturday, 3rd December, 2022…This is the day appointed for our Reunion Dinner Party. 

The venue will be Golden Tulip Hotel, GRA.   Our attire will be all white. Redcarpet will begin @ 3pm to 4pm.

“Sunday, 4th December, 2022…We will all go before our God to say thank you for keeping us safe these past 30yrs.

This thanksgiving will take place @ Wesley Methodist Church, 1 Harbour Road @ 10am.  Our attire will be the blue george, skyblue blouse, skyblue headtie.

“The items to be used for the thanksgiving will be provided by us individually.

We have posted the items here and encourage each and every one of us to key into this project”.
