Tipper Driver Found Dead With Rope Tied To His Neck

There was pandemonium on Sunday morning as residents Eagles Island, Port Harcourt found a middle aged man simply identified as Justice who is said to be a native of Etche in Rivers State dead, with rope tied on his neck and hung on a tree at the back of Octopus Sandfill jetty at Eagle Island, Port Harcourt.

A resident who spoke to our correspondent, said the Azikwe Divisional has been alerted, adding that some men had since been dispatched to the scene to evacuate the corpse.

A colleague to the deceased, suspected to have committed suicide who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent that the late, Justice was last seen on Saturday night and wondered what could have warranted him to take his own life.

When journalists visited the Eagle Island Sunday evening, the members of Tipper Drivers Association, were in an emergency meeting over the incident.

The South-South Zonal Chairman of the Association, Prince Barifodum confirmed receiving the report of the incident but said he could not comment further on the matter as details is sketchy.

The acting spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, DSP Grace Iringe Koko, when contacted by our correspondent, said she would get back to our reporter but was yet to do so as at time of filing the report.
