Yamaabana Cautions Election Losers Against Heating Up Polity In Rivers
The Chairman of the Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition, Chief Comrade Legborsi Yamaabana has warned those who lost in the just concluded governorship election in Rivers State not to heat up the polity.
Yamaabana gave this warning at the Port Harcourt International Airport why reacting to action of the APC governorship candidate, Tonye Cole, who allegedly ordered security men attached to him to shoot members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who were protesting peacefully at the entrance of Port Harcourt INEC office, leaving one person dead.
The Rivers Youth leader stressed that what is tenable in a saner clime is that the peace and development of a state is supreme and above the parochial interest of any individual.
He lambasted Tonye Cole for trying to ‘force’ himself on Rivers people who have unanimously elected Sir Amaopusenibo Siminialayi Fubara to consolidate on the extraordinary gains and achievements of Governor Nyesom Wike.
“I want to state emphatically that if the untamed and uncontrollable desperation of Tonye Cole lead to breach of peace in Rivers State, Rivers Youths shall set the law in motion against him.
“I call on all stakeholders who participated in the just concluded election to be patriotic and work with the Governor elect to move Rivers State forward”, he said.
