Accolades, Encomiums For Eze Elechi As He Takes Over As PHACCIMA President

Political and business associates as well as friends and well-wishers of Eze (Sir) Mike Elechi, who gathered Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Port Harcourt poured encomiums on him during his investiture as the president of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHACCIMA).

The stakeholders who spoke both in the occasion and at the sideline were unanimous in their opinion on the PHACCIMA President who is also the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Vintage Group of companies, Port Harcourt.

Those who barred their minds included the former Rivers State governor, Chief Sir Celestine Omehia; the commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Hon. (Mrs) Ifeyinwa Nwankpa; the former NBA President, Sir O.C.J. Okocha; Civil Service Commission Chairman, Chief Barr. Oris Onyiri; former Chief of staff, Govt House, Chief Barr Glory Emeh; former Chairman, Secondary Education Board, Chief David Briggs; Cpt. Elechi Amadi Polytechnics Rector, Dr. Samuel B. Kalagbor, the LG Council bosses of Ikwerre, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike; Emohua, Dr Chidi Lloyd; Obio/Akpor, Hon. (Barr) George Ariolu and PHALGA, Hon Sir Allwell Ihunda, former UPTH CMD Prof. Aaron Ojule, Prince Billy Harry among others which included foreigners.  

They said the celebrant was a peaceful, hardworking and honest ally who is focused on his goal.

According to the commissioner “Eze Elechi is generally known as an honest and hardworking person who goes after what he wants with all determination,” she said.

The immediate past president of PHACCIMA and a foreigner, Chief Nabil Saleh said “Eze Elechi is good to work with, describing him as a competent and hardworking partner who is ready to learn”.

There was also a special goodwill message from the NACCIMA president, Ide John Udeabala, praising the competence of the PHACCIMA president.

In his opening address at the event, the chairman of the occasion and Rivers Elders Forum Chairman, Chief Ferdinand Anabraba described PHACCIMA as a reputable organization that is poised to partner with the state government to achieve set goal and advised all the private entrepreneurs in the state to join the organization for maximum and mutual benefits.

He assured the organization of the state government’s support for their mutual benefits.

Eze (Sir) Elechi who is the 62nd president of PHACCIMA used the opportunity to reel out his blue print for the organization.

“We shall have as hallmark and guiding principles three broad fundamental areas of focus which includes: (1) Member oriented and inclusive programmes and opportunities. (2) Increased scope of programme dispensation and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and (3) Consolidation of growth, peace and oneness of members”, he declared.

Eze Elechi who is a recipient of the 2020 Federal Government’s National Productivity Award in recognition of his company’s valuable contributions to the growth of the nation’s gross domestic products (GDP) reiterated that as the mouthpiece of the organized private sector, PHACCIMA under his watch will continue to pursue her objective and ensure that businesses thrive, facilitates ease of doing businesses, engage all levels of government and her agencies in advocacy for effective and fair economic policies.

He used the opportunity to appreciate all the invited guests, his colleagues and friends for the confidence repose in him and promised not to betray it.

Highlights of the event was the inauguration and investiture of the president and his executive as well as the council, the cutting of the investiture cake by the exco as well as the command performance by the Navy band and that of the ‘Harmonic Choral Group.
