ASALGA Chairman Sues For Peace Among Warring Members Of Da-Abbi Royal House

Following the crisis rocking the Da-Abbi Royal House Council of Chiefs over the stool of the Amanyanabo of Kalabari kingdom, the Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Onengiyeofori George has sued for peace among members of Da-Abbi Royal House Council of Chiefs, urging all parties to steer clear of the King Amachree Hall, pending the determination of the matter in court.

Speaking during the peace meeting held Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Council’s Hall of Fame, the ASALGA Council Boss appealed to members of Da-Abbi Royal House council of chiefs, saying his administration is focused on creating peaceful atmosphere in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, adding that if peace eludes the Royal House, then the LGA and Kalabari as a whole would be affected.

Hon. George revealed that some sinister plot is ongoing in some quarters to forcefully gain access to the king Amachree Hall for the purposes of performing traditional rites for the ascension to the stool of Kalabari Kingdom. To this, he declared that the Da-Abbi Hall, Da Amachree Hall and the conference should be opened for the family for the interest of peace in the community.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Buguma Police Division, SP Zuokomor Richard, in his remarks at the meeting, also appealed to all parties in the matter to continue to maintain peace in the community.

The National Vice President of Buguma Internal Affairs Society (BIAS), Hon. Lolo Ibieneye, said BIAS is always ready to ensure that peaceful atmosphere in the community is strengthen and encouraged by all means possible.

And assured that the group will work in synergy with the Da-Abbi Royal House Council of chiefs to ensure that the matter is amicably resolved.

Chief Mangibo W.W. Okorosa  Amachree thanked the ASALGA boss for his unbiased approach to the matter in view, while pleading with him to call for another meeting for heart-to-heart talks with the royal family.
