I’m No. 1 Supporter Of Sim Fubara, Obuah Tells Group

…Says: ‘PDP Standard Bearer, God’s Own Project’

Ikemba Idemili and immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Bro. Felix Obuah, has told the Rivers Equity Group that he holds the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Siminialayi Fubara in high esteem, and remains his number one supporter in the State.

Speaking when he received the group at his country home in Omoku, headquarters of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) on Tuesday, Obuah said his support for Sir Fubara stemmed from his firm conviction that the Opobo–born standard bearer of the party has divine endorsement to be the next governor of the state.

The former Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) stated that since the Rivers Equity Group is partnering with ‘God’s own project’, he would do all his best to give his moral support and otherwise.

Stressing that nobody makes or gives power, except God Almighty, Bro. Obuah said the overwhelming support being enjoyed by Sim Fubara is clear testimony that his emergence at the primaries was not a fluke.

“Looking at the circumstances of his emergence, it is crystal clear that it’s a divine mandate, and no matter what happens or who you are, if you are not destined to occupy a position, you will not get it. According to the bible, there is no power that be except it comes from God”, he said, reaffirming his gratitude that the Equity Group is known to be ‘Simplified and Simplifying’.

Bro. Obuah went on: “God has already ordained Amaopusenibo Siminialayi Fubara as the one and there is nothing anyone can do about it, for whomsoever God has blessed, no man can curse”, he said.

The former RIWAMA boss went on to eulogized Siminialayi Fubara, as a simple young man who grew from a humble background, rising from nothing to something, citing how he grew in his career through the ranks and to where he is today, urging all Rivers people to join hands and support him.

Bro. Obuah, who is popularly called ‘Mba Anabara Agu of Orashi Kingdom’, thanked the Rivers Equity Group who were in Omoku on a free medical outreach, for finding the time to come for the programme especially as it is aimed at touching the lives of the less privileged.

He said he is marveled that such a group that is made up of retired Permanent Secretaries, renowned professionals and people of repute, who ordinarily should be minding their business and resting, are up and doing in the field serving humanity.

Delighted that the scheme is another avenue for poverty alleviation, the Ikemba Idemili said he is also grateful to God for blessing members of the group who now serve as blessing to the less privileged in the society, even as he enjoined other civil society groups and NGOs to emulate the examples of the Rivers Equity Group by getting ‘Simplified and Ngozinized’ for the tasks ahead.

Earlier in his speech, leader of the group, Hon. Elder Clapton Ogolo, had commended Bro. Felix Obuah for his large heart and philanthropy, noting that what the Equity Group is doing now is what he (Obuah) has been doing and continues to do for decades.

He prayed God to bless Bro. Obuah for the good works he is doing and for according the Equity Group a very generous reception.

Deputy Leader of the group, Sir J.P. Nalley, while speaking intimated Bro. Obuah on the activities of the group which he said ranged from enlightenment on the electoral act, free medical services especially on eyes checkup, treatment, issuing of free eyeglasses and referrals.

He noted that the group, in collaboration with the Linsolar Eye Clinic, had also taken the programme to Asari-Toru, Gokana and Eleme Local Government Areas, including the ongoing programme in ONELGA.

The deputy leader noted that prior to venturing into the series of medical outreaches and electoral act enlightenment programme, the Group had also organized series of enlightenment campaigns on electoral act and nonviolent elections in Port Harcourt and Oyigbo local government areas  before going back to the drawing board to brainstorm and arrived at what the need of the people is, hence the introduction of the medical outreach alongside the enlightenment programme.
