Okpe Inaugurates Tai Campaign Council

As the 2023 general elections heat up, the Chairman of Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Mbakpone Friday Okpe has inaugurated the Tai Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, consisting of 251 persons.

Addressing the members of the campaign council at the headquarters of the Council in Saakpenwa on Tuesday, Hon. Okpe charged them to be committed to their assignment and work vigorously to ensure that they deliver all the party candidates.

He said the campaign council representing all their 10 wards, occupy strategic position to help  lead to the victory of all the PDP candidates.

According to the council boss, he does not see any other party winning election in Tai because since the inception of this political dispensation in 1999, the PDP has been winning in Tai.

His words: Tai is PDP since 1999, it was only once it was over taken by the APC but we have reversed all that and the forces that drive the process in Tai are now in PDP. So there is no cause for alarm. Some of  the things we used to do that lead to our delivery is what we’ve started.

Hon. Okpe expressed confidence in members of the campaign council, saying they are all credible leaders carefully selected from their various wards and units. He reiterated that they would work day and night to ensure victory for all the candidates of PDP.

The PDP House of Representatives candidate for Tai, Oyibo and Eleme Federal Constituency, Hon. Felix Uche Nwaeke congratulated members of the campaign council who have been called to serve, saying their call to service is a mark of recognition and that their service will not be in vain.

According to him, PDP has no reason not to win the 2023 elections based on the achievements of Governor Nyesom Wike who has performed well and the crop of LGA chairmen who have taken after his footsteps.

Speaking on behalf of the campaign council, the alternate chairman, Hon. Perkins Kelo thanked the chairman and other stakeholders for the opportunity given to them and promised that they would live up to expectation.
