PDP Ikwerre Ward, WSM Pass Confidence Vote On Wike, Others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 1, Ogbodo, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State as well as its mobilization group in the Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM) have in a joint meeting over the weekend at Ogbodo Isiokpo at the residence of Chief (Dr.) Goodluck Nwobike passed a vote of confidence on the State governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, his predecessor in office, Sir Celestine Omehia, the National chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus and Rivers State PDP chairman, Bro Felix Obuah, for their selfless services to their fatherland and urged them not to relent.

Other stakeholders who benefitted from the confidence vote included, the Board of Trustees Chairman of WSM, Hon Gabriel Pidomson; Ikwerre LG Council Boss, Hon. Engr. Samuel Nwanosike; WSM Coordinator, Ikwerre LGA, Comrade Chinwendu Orduwa; KELGA PDP Party Chairman, Barr. Sunny Nwondikom and PDP KELGA Ward one chairman, Barr. Olisaelloka Tasie-Amadi.

After fruitful deliberations, bordering on the political developments in the Ward, LGA, State and the Country in general, the body came out with a three point communiqué, including a resolution for the PDP members in KELGA Ward 1 to put behind them what they called the unfortunate events that occurred there in the past few weeks and to remain focused on the forthcoming general elections.

The communiqué also directed the Assistant Ward Coordinator of WSM, Mr. Mezue Wabali, to assume the position of Acting Ward Coordinator, pending his confirmation as a substantive Coordinator.

The communiqué, which was signed by Mr. Mezue Wabali, further directed that every PDP member in Ward 1 Isiokpo, should be focused and commence mobilization of support for the re-election of Gov Wike, electoral victory of the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and indeed all the party’s candidates for the 2019 general elections.

They used the opportunity to advise the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, its adhoe staff and the security agencies to endeavour to conduct a free, fair, credible and transparent election, as according to the group, the country’s nascent democracy and indeed the future of Nigeria depends on their actions.###
