There are palpable fears across Etche land over what has been exposed as plans instigated by Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi to visit their land with calamity during Saturday Presidential Election as well as the March 9 Guber polls.

Anyanwu said he had it on good authority that ‘Amaechi’s gangs of murderous political thugs’ are being supported by some military and police officers to unleash mayhem on the State.

He said Etche people are peaceful and warned the Transportation Minister not to take their peaceful disposition for granted, adding that his threats would have been ignored as an empty ranting, but decided to react in view of the volatile nature of the elections in Nigeria.

The Etche Ethnic Nationality also warned the GOC 6 Division of the Army, Major General Jamil Sarham and Mr. Akin Victor Fakorede to stay away from the politics of Rivers State before they ‘get their fingers burnt’ from the aftermath.

They further called on the international community to hold Rotimi Amaechi, the Army GOC and Mr. Fakorede fully and completely responsible in the event of breakdown of law and order in any part of Etcheland during the general elections.
