Gov Wike Delivers Rivers To Atiku

Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has delivered the votes of people of the state to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the PDP Presidential Candidate clearly defeated the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential election in the state.

The PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar, won in 14 Local Government Areas of the state while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, and incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari, won in only four local government areas.

This was according to results presented by the Rivers State Collation Officer, Mr. Essien.

 According to the results, the APC Presidential Candidate woefully lost in Governor Nyesom Wike’s local government area, Obio/Akpor, as he clinched only 6,875 votes while the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, got 69,981 votes.

This was as the Presidential Candidate of APC also woefully lost in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, where the Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah, hails from, as PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, defeated his All Progressives Congress counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari, by getting 28,536 votes as against Buhari’s 10,996 votes.

Buhari also woefully lost in other local government areas of the state to the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

According to other collated results, the PDP presidential candidate also clearly defeated the presidential candidate of the APC in Khana Local Government Area, where the PDP got 89,843votes while the APC received only 5,329 votes.

In  other collated results in the state, the candidates of the two political parties scored the following votes: Oyigbo (PDP – 16, 102 votes; APC – 3, 520 votes); Etche (PDP – 11,135; APC – 7,163 votes); Ogu/Bolo (PDP – 8,221 votes; APC – 2,148 votes)  Tai (APC – 2,564; PDP 45,049 votes); Degema (APC – 7,298; PDP – 14,083); Port-Harcourt City (PDP – 46,851 votes; APC – 10,742 votes); and Ahoada-East (APC – 4,693 votes and PDP – 10,612 votes).

In Omuma, the PDP got 15,322 votes while the APC got only 2,494 votes.

In Eleme, the PDP presidential candidate got 8,464 votes while the candidate of All Progressives Congress got only 2,412 votes.

In other results, PDP got 10,276 votes in Gokana Local Government Area while the All Progressives Congress got 9,328 votes.

In Andoni, home local government area of PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, the PDP presidential candidate got 72,330 votes while the candidate of All Progressives Congress received 10,766 votes.

However, there were no collated results in five local government areas of the state from the presidential election last Saturday.

The affected local government areas include Bonny, Akuku-Toru, Okrika, Ikwerre and Ahoada-West Local Government Areas of the state.

Elections did not take place in Bonny and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas of the state because of violence, according to reports while electoral officers who were assigned to  Okrika, Ikwerre and Ahoada-West Local Government Areas, and did not come with their respective collation officers (COs), said that there was nothing to show that election held in these affected local government areas.

They also accused some soldiers in the Nigerian Army of violently disrupting the collation exercise in these local government areas.

Meanwhile, reports said that INEC officials narrated how soldiers of the 6 Division of Nigerian Army in Port-Harcourt, invaded the collation centres in Emohua and Ikwerre Local Government Areas of the state in last Saturday’s general elections.

A report said that the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi in company of about 100 soldiers, allegedly invaded the INEC office in Isiokpo, headquarters of Ikwerre local government area.

 According to the reports, the soldiers invaded the collation centres in Emohua and Ikwerre Local Government Areas and made away with National Assembly and Presidential Results Sheets of last Saturday’s general election.
