A Civil Engineer and traditional prime minister of Alaeia Autonomous Community, Ngor-Okpala in Imo State, Chief (Engr.) Collins Chigbu has extolled the leadership qualities of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State, stressing that if supported, has the capacity to transform the state to investment destination of Africa.
He stated this in a chat with newsmen over the weekend in Port Harcourt.
Chief Chigbu appealed to stakeholders especially politicians to close ranks and consolidate on the achievements of the governor these past years, adding that governor Wike is a divine gift to Rivers State and indeed Nigeria.
According to the Monarch, “It is only one with a divine touch that can do or withstand all the challenges that came the governor’s way unscathed, adding that Rivers State is lucky to have him especially at this point in time”.
He expressed gratitude to the leaders for making the state comfortable for all Nigerians as their second home, promising that people like him are ready and willing to support to move the state to greater heights.
While congratulating the governor on his divine victory at the polls for his second tenure, Chief Chigbu appealed to him to give priority attention to the challenges of insecurity in the State by creating job opportunies for the youths.
He also advocated for special roles for the traditional rulers to enable them actively contribute their quota in nation-building.
“If Traditional Rulers are given free hands to function in their various domains and perhaps supported with some stipends, things will be a bit better as they know virtually everybody there and would be able to checkmate them”.
Comparatively, Chief Chigbu said the outgoing Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha is a non-performer and selfish unlike his Rivers State counterpart.
Chief Chigbu who has the traditional title of “Omereoha I of Ngor-Okpala, made it known that the former Governor of old Imo State, late Chief Sam Mbakeve is still being remembered today because of his legacies.
