NAWOJ Begins Nationwide Protest Against Rape
As advocates of women and girls who firmly stand against all forms of Gender Based Violence (GBV) the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Nationwide has in compliance with physical distancing protocol commenced a Virtual campaign against rape in the country.
According to the statement from her National Secretariat, the virtual meeting which started on Monday the 15th of June will end on Sunday the 21st of June, 2020.
The statement enjoined all the 36 state of the Country Chairpersons to key into the campaign while asking every female journalist to drop their e- flyers at the same time as follows: Monday to Thursday – Noon and Friday to Sunday 8pm.
“We will drop our messages on our social media platforms and other channels at the time we all we agree to.
”Our understanding is that all the states and their members, doing similar things AT THE SAME TIME will create the desired impact, the statement read in parts.
