Although the April 17, 2021 local government council election in Rivers State is still weeks ahead, youths of Egbeda Community in Emohua Local Government Area are full of optimism that the coast is already clear for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Chidi Lloyd, to emerge victorious.
Brimming with excitement, the Youths President of the community, Comrade Friday Ovumgba said the election in Emohua LGA is highly predictable, considering the pedigree of the former APC strong man.
Ovumgba told journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, that Dr. Lloyd is a political heavyweight with an unbroken record of electoral victories, adding that Emohuans are eagerly waiting for the election day to cement his victory.
“Emohua LGA is blessed to have a man like Chidi Lloyd. With such highly educated, experienced and principled personality, we have no doubt that Emohua, under his charge, would be taken to the next level”, the youths leader enthused.
The youth president reiterated that his group is a non-partisan, aggregation of all youths of Egbeda community who have resolved to vote for Chidi Lloyd because they believe in what he can do.
Ovumgba disclosed that a prayer team has already been inaugurated to seek divine help for a hitch free poll on election day.
The Egbeda youth leader also said he had no doubt that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) would do a good job given that it’s Chairman, the erudite Rtd Justice George Omereji is a man of proven integrity.
He however, advised the electoral umpire to discharge it’s duties creditably without fear or favour and in accordance with the law.
