Members’ Defection To PDP, Major Crack On APC In Rivers  – Isoboye Jack

A former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Hon. Isoboye Jack says the return of the former APC members to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has inflicted a major crack on the APC as a party.

Hon. Jack, a former leader of APC from Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State said he decided to dump APC for PDP due to the internal leadership crisis in APC coupled with the antecedents of Governor Nyesom Wike whom he said has performed beyond expectations in all ramifications.

Hon. Jack who has served as a Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akulga, and one time Chairman of Rivers State Environmental Sanitation regretted his decision to join the APC, stressing it has become clear that APC as a political party has no direction for them to follow.

He further regretted that they were all deceived into APC out of their loyalty to Amaechi, believing that they were fighting a good cause aimed at helping Rivers people, not knowing that it was powered by personal ambition of Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.

Hon. Jack expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership for the opportunity given to him and his supporters.

He commended Governor Nyesom Wike for his developmental strides and his understanding the game of politics.

Governor Nyesom Wike understands that politicians are supposed to be recognized and considered in the decision making. He has recognition for the capacity of politicians he needs to work with and the capacity of politicians is what politics is all about. And I must tell you that the governor has done very well in that aspect”, he noted.

The Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Rowland Sekibo said the defection of Hon. Jack and his followers to the PDP was a good omen in Akulga and the State at large. He assured that Hon. Jack’s full rights and privileges as a party leader will be accorded him without discrimination.

He said that the door has not been closed on the decampees as the PDP is still waiting to welcome more defections into its folds.
