PDP Lauded For Peaceful Settlement Of Crisis
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Goodluck Nwobike, has expressed gratitude to God and indeed congratulated the stakeholders of the party for peacefully settling the crisis that almost rock the party recently, stressing that PDP is the only hope that would rescue Nigerians from the misrule of the APC-led Federal Government come 2023 general election hence the apprehension that enveloped well-meaning Nigerians during the evil forces that crept into party.
He was speaking with newsmen at Omagwa Community of Ikwerre Local Government Area over the weekend during the decamping of some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress to the PDP.
According to Nwobike “PDP as a formidable political party provided visionary leadership for the country for 16years, and it’s on record that for only 6years the APC with strange bed fellows fraudulently took over power in 2015, and have taken the country 50years backwards through their ruderless leadership that had brought nothing but pains, insecurity and disunity to the nation”, he said.
The Ward One, KELGA PDP stakeholder made it known that with the somewhat resolution of the PDP crisis, fear now grips the APC federal government because the party is strategizing to wrestle back power in 2023 general election in order to rescue the country from disintegration; adding that it is only the PDP that has the clout and ability to do it.
Chief Nwobike used the opportunity to condemn some politicians, he described as gullible who were assisted to win election through the PDP platform years back, a situation which could perhaps not have been possible through other political parties, only for them to cross-carpet to the ruling APC of late, either for their personal interests or for fear of the anti-graft agency that is constantly on their neck.
He commended the intention of the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to sue such politicians including the Edo State governor, Godwin Obasiki who had almost lost his second term bid in the APC but for the PDP.
He warned against the development whereby the Federal Government is also forcing or luring prominent politicians into the APC fold, thereby risking turning the country into a one-party state which he noted, will be dangerous to the system.
Dr. Nwobike further advised that governor Wike should be encouraged to strengthen the party for the forthcoming general election and that whoever that wants to become a stumbling block no matter how highly placed, should be bull-dozed out of the way.
He stated that it’s only the Fulani herdsmen with their brothers at the helm of the country’s affairs that would want the APC government to continue beyond May, 2023 for them to conclude their satanic agenda on the nation.
Sir Nwobike used the opportunity to advise Nigerians who actually wants genuine and positive change for the country to go out and participate in the on-going PDP nationwide continuous voters registration exercise (CVR).
