Find IPOB Leader In Rivers, Get N50m – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has promised a 50 Million Naira ransom for anyone with useful information that will lead to the arrest of one Mr. Stanley Mgbere.

The Governor declared Mr. Stanley Mgbere wanted for allegedly leading members of IPOB in the state to Oyigbo, where there was eventual violence.

The Governor made this pronouncement on Friday evening in a press release. He reinforced the ban on the organisation and directed security agencies to stop any form of procession and agitation by the group in the state.

He urged the security agencies to arrest and prosecute any person or group that identifies with the organization.

Wike blamed the organisation for the violence that erupted in Oyigbo local government that reportedly led to loss of lives and property.

The Governor disclosed that he will meet with community development committees and youth leaders on Monday, 26th October 2020 in order to discuss how to take measures to stop the activities of the group in the State.

The Governor noted that the organisation has been banned by the Federal Government and that the state reinforces the ban.

He said that the group has been disturbing the peace of the state, hence they need to be stopped.

He noted that he had pleaded with the group to stop their activities in the state but they did not listen, rather, that they intensified their activities

He appealed to the people of Oyigbo local government to remain calm and leave matters in the hands of the Government, despite what he termed as intense provocation by members of the group
