Barr. Otubu Assures Efficiency, Better Representation For Ikwerre/Emohua Fed. Constituency
As 2019 general election draws nearer, a legal luminary in the State, Chief Barr. Celia Chisa Otubu has reiterated her passion and desire to effectively represent her people in the House of Representatives if given the mandate.
Speaking with newsmen over the weekend in Osiokpo, capital of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, she made it clear that with her at the green chambers, her people’s voice would not only be heard, but would positively change the public perception of politicians as selfish lot. “I will ensure the overall development of my constituency and the constituents as they have been neglected for too long” she said.
Barr. Otubu used the opportunity to real out his three point action plans which include the establishment of constituency offices at Emohua and Ikwerre Local Government Areas and its staffing of the offices for easy consultation; Monthly one-on -one appointment and quarterly town hall meetings, as well as corresponding constituency projects and sponsoring of development bills.
According to her, “when elected I will ensure that my constituents experience real development, which they deserve.”
Also speaking, the Celia Otubu Campaign Organization (COCO) assured the aspirants of their preparedness this time around, to vote for a female, at least for a change, adding that common sense has it that for one to get a different result from what he/she is used to, there should be a shift from what he/she has been doing.
“We are shifting priority attention to Chief Celia Otubu not only because of her antecedent as a philanthropist but as a female politician with the passion of a mother, the story would definitely not be the same as with her male counterparts who has been tested and found wanting”.
The federal constituency aspirant reiterated that with a level playing ground, a credible candidate that will face any opponent at the primary election will not only emerge but will equally assured a stable and united Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that will be difficult to be challenged at the polls, no matter how sofiscated the APC rigging machines will be,” they said.
