Utchay who spoke with newsmen at the end of a meeting by members of the Atiku/Obi Vanguard in Port-Harcourt, said that the entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party are preparing for the elections and appealed to the people of the State and Nigerians in general to vote for the PDP presidential candidate and his running mate and for Governor Nyesom Wike and his running mate and all other PDP candidates in the 2019 general elections. Present at the meeting was also the State Director of the group, Chief Hon. Paworiso Samuel Horsfall.

He said that the choice of Obi as running mate to the PDP presidential candidate is generally accepted by the people of the South-East, saying that Obi has no “questionable character” and is the best man for the job in the South-East region.

He appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct free and fair elections in the country in the forthcoming 2019 general elections and not be a “rubberstamp” for the APC-led federal government.

He appealed to members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State and across the country to vote in next year’s general elections to ensure that the party takes back power from the ruling APC.
